How do I get Outlook 2003 to remember my password?

I have just upgraded my Office installation from XP to 2003. Now Outlook will
not retain my password on my POP3 account; and it will not connect to Hotmail
at all. I have already tried deleting the Protected Storage System Provider
key, as well as deleting/recreating the email accounts. I'm no newbie - and
this seems a prevelant problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hotmail now requires a subscription fee if you want to access your e-mail
through a 3rd party client such as Outlook Express or Outlook.
