How do I get my excel spreadsheet to load into an existing databa

I have created a blank database sheet. I want to import my excel spreadsheet
into that existing database. I go to File, Get External Data, Import. I
select existing database. I hit finish and I receive an error message saying
my database is already opened. What do I do?

first close the table before you try and put data there. You will then get a
message asking if you want to overwrite the data.

The better approach would be to import your spreadsheet into a new table and
then use an append query to place your data into the Access table.

for your get external data to work the field names must be the same and the
data type for each field must be defined correctly.

Bringing your data into a temporary table allows you the chance to clean
these attributes up
