how do i get german proofing tools?

i have microsoft word 2003. when i want to change the spell check language to
german(tools>language>set language>german) there is no tick with abc noxt to
the the word german. but next to the optiojn french spanish and english,
there is. i can select the german spell check, but it doesn't underline
mistakes, even if i untick "do not check spelling and grammar". what can i do?

I would guess you will need to update your copy of Office with that
German language. You should be able to do that from their web site. I am
not sure where however

Going to an Office newsgroup or maybe even a Word group might get you
more informed answers.
