How do I get German as one of the spell check languages in word?

I want to write essays for Uni in both english and german, there are only
french and spanish dictionarys installed on word, is there anywhere I can
download the germen one from so I can also have the spelling of my german
checked?

I believe your only option is to buy the Microsoft Proofing Tools for Office
which gives you a full set of about 50 different languages.
