How Do I Fix A Video With Green/Blue Tint

Guest

When I save a movie with Windows MovieMaker and I select 'Best quality for
playback on my computer (recommended)' when I play it back it has a green
line at the top and the picture has a green/blue tint in it. However, when I
select 'Other Settings' like 'Video for pocket pc (218 kbps) the playback is
ok.
I'm using Windows xp (Home) and Windows Media Player 11

Would appreciate any advice on how to solve the problem? Thanks! John

If you reduce your Graphics Hardware Acceleration
as per the instructions in the following article and
realize an improvement, it's an indication that you

I checked the manufaturer's website for an updated video driver but there
were none so, will give them a call.
On another note......I'm trying to download a streaming video file from a
website that uses the Windows Media Player to stream their videos. I
downloaded the video file to my pc but it has a DAT extension. I can open the
file with my Windows Media Player when I click on the URL in my temporary
files but I can't save it when I click on File in my Windows Media Player and
select 'Save as....'? I also tried various websites where they claim that
their streaming capture software would download streaming video files but
they have all been unsuccessful. They download the video but with the same
DAT extension as the file I've already copied from my temporary files after
watching the video via the website. Maybe I'm following the wrong lead? Any
ideas that you may have would be very much appreciated! Thanks, John

Maybe the .dat file is nothing more than
a link and not an actual downloaded video
file. Look at the file size to see if it is large
enough to be an actual video file. Try copying
the file to your desktop and renaming it to
..avi, .mpg, or .wmv and see what happens.

Maybe the following site will offer some ideas:

Streaming video recording software

Thanks for the website link.....I tried the Replay AV software and it
converted the file to ASF and solved the problem I had with all the other
software saving the file with a DAT extension. If interested here's a copy
of the email I've received from them. Regards, John

Hi John,

What you're describing is exactly what Replay AV is for. It stream captures
audio and video clips and can also record shows on a schedule. Download and
install the free demo of Replay AV and take it for a test drive.

Here is a link to the section of the User Guide that describes how to stream
capture video with Replay AV.
