How Do I enable the windows task manager?

My windows task manager has been disabled on my windows Xp home edition.I
think this is due to some trojan sent to me by my friend.
I have tried enabling it through regedit.exe but it failed. Can anyone
suggest me a permanent solution to enable my task manager.

Make sure you update Ad-Aware and SpyBot before running the scan.
