How do I EDIT a screen print in Word?

I used to be able to EDIT in Word a screen print after it was pasted into the
document. I am Word 2003 and cannot EDIT the pasted screen print.

A screen print is, and always was, a graphic. As such, you can't, and never
could, edit it.

I appreciate your response, but previously before XP and 2003, I could paste
a screen print into a text box and edit the screen print values. This
capability was very helpful and I need it back.

Hello Bobbie-

Please be kind enough to share your secret technique.

I have just tried this in Word 97 & 2000 as you describe it, and in
_neither_ version is the text content of the graphic editable. Even when
Inserting the screen shot in several different ways rather than pasting.

Depending on how you insert the screen shot there may be an 'Edit Picture'
command in the shortcut menu when you right-click the picture, but even in MS
Picture Editor there is no provision for modifying 'text' in the picture.

There must be something more to know.

Then buy a copy of SnagIt, which will allow you to do things with screen
capture that you wouldn't believe possible - there's a trial to download.

Previously in Word 97, all I had to do was paste the screen print into a text
box and click on the data I wanted to change. I did a pretty big users guide
and had lots of changes I needed to make to the screens. I had no problems
at all doing this. I vaguely remembering trying this in Word 2000, and it
failed. The urgency for it working did not exist as it does now though.

Hi Graham-

SnagIt is certainly an excellent recommendation for the OP's requirement,
but I'm still trying to figure out how to replicate the feat. Any ideas?

Previous versions of Word included Microsoft Photo Editor, which could be
selected as the default picture editor. If Photo Editor has the capability
to add text, it is conceivable that graphics could be edited in this way.
