How do I disable Windows Mail?

B

Bluekat

I'll cut to the chase.

I have Yahoo Mail. I found windows mail on my system (vista). While trying
to find out information about windows mail .... somehow I instituted Windows
Mail to snag "ALL" my Yahoo Inbox. Additionally, all my new Yahoo inbox goes
directly to windows mail now.

How can I stop this? I prefer Yahoo mail.

My thinking was Windows Mail was like the old Outlook, and I might be able
to archive/save a chunk of my important Yahoo mail there.

This Windows Mail is definetely not working for me. Any "lamens terms"
instructions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You!

Windows Mail is part of Vista. It is not possible to remove it. One can delete the shortcuts on the programs menu or quick launch
taskbar if presence of same is bothersome.

If use of Windows Mail for Yahoo was via the pop3 protocol, and message were not left on the Yahoo server, then they may only
reside in WM. If you wish those messages to be available on the Yahoo server, you'll have to forward the messages back to your
account and not use WM.

If you don't like Windows Mail, don't run it.
There is no easy or automated way to return all those downloaded
messages to the Yahoo mail server.

If the camcast(sp) is was setup as a pop3 account, the only way to place the messages back on the server is to forward the messages
to that account. Ensure in advance the camcast account in WM is configured to leave messages on the server.
