How do I disable all formatting of email

G

Guest

I wish to read email as plain text. I wish to force Outlook to present the
email as received, without formatting of any kind. Currently, I'm forced to
use Format->Unwrap Text on every email I get.

I also wish to be able to hit reply (include original with leading > ) and
have each orginal line appear, unaltered (with additional linebreaks, for
example), with a leading '>'.

Any ideas?

Go to Tools | Options and on the General page, click E-mail options. Check the box for "Read all standard mail in plain text" and clear the box for "Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages." Under "When replying to a message," choose "Include original message text."

You've just described my current settings exactly. Outlook continues to
insert linefeeds whereever it sees fit when reading mail and when replying to
mail with a leading >. As I said, I can use Format->Unwrap text, which seems
to work, but I shouldn't have to do that.
