How do I delete the "Taskbar Notification - Old Icons"

I right click on the taskbar, go to properties, Taskbar,
Customize. I want to get rid of all the old programs and
what not "Past Items". It gets on my nerves because
Windows cant even pair the right icon with the right item
name. It's kind of annoying and the list just keeps
getting longer. How do I delete those stupid things!!!!!
