How do I delete previous search strings

When I go to a search engine and search for an item, I see
that search pattern when I type in other searches that
closely match the string of the previous search. Does
anyone know how to shut this off or delete previous search
strings?

The Autocomplete options are at Internet Options> Content> Autocomplete.
