Well, decide what you want the register to do first, as that will
determine what data you need to collect. Once you know what fields you
need (Date, Time, IN/Out, Name, Visiting etc), then set these up in
columns with headings going across the sheet. Adjust column widths to
suit the data you are likely to record, and set formats for the data
in the style you wish to see (eg for date and time etc). You may wish
to apply data validation to some fields to restrict entries. You can
think about having pre-set reports on the data in different sheets, eg
numbers visiting particular staff by week, or profile of visitors
across a consolidated day, etc.
