How do I correct an upper case mix up?

You may want to check the Regional settings in the control panel. It sounds like you may have English EK instead of an English US
keyboard active.

This is weird....my upper case 2 is now " and the place where the " should
have been is now @.
How do I correct this? All the other upper cases (using the shift key of
course) is still okay. >>

It sounds like you've toggled a different keyboard on on the language bar.
If you see the language bar in the Windows taskbar (usually something like
EN, click the EN and see if there's an option to set it back to the keyboard
that's correct for your locale. Also... you might want to go into the
settings (right-click the EN, click Settings, Advanced Key Settings) and
disable the ability to switch keyboards by pressing different combinations
of the Ctrl/Shift/Alt keys so it doesn't happen by accident in the future.
