How do I convince HP Printer Software that IE7 is higher than IE5

I have RC2 Build 5744 installed on a Dell Inspiring E1705 Laptop and it runs
great.

I bought a HP DeskJet 460 Mobile printer. I can get the print driver
installed and it will print, however, when I try to install the software
(toolbox etc), I get the message "Setup Error - Internet Explorer 5.0 or
later Required". In order to use We-If or Bluetooth on the printer, I must
install the toolbox.

Does anyone have any idea how I can "trick" the HP Software to treat IE 7 as
IE 5 or higher?

Thanks,
Lee Steele

I had the same problem until I decided to let the native drivers install
without the assistance of the CD from HP. The printer was found and works
just fine, but I don't have all the "bells and whistles". You may want to
simply add the printer and see if Vista already has a driver. If it works,
you won't have full functionality but at least you will be able to print! :)

Thanks for the info. I can print, I was just trying to get all of the bells
and whistles.

I think that's one of the things you'll have to wait for until HP decides to
convert some of its drivers to Vista.

I have a DeskJet 9650 and couldn't install it for some reason or other and
went to HP Support. I was told drivers and such for Vista would not be
worked on until Vista is released. I hope that doesn't mean January, but it
probably will.
