How do I control the total number of headers?

How do I (or can I) control the total number of headers OE6 displays in a
news group? I don't mean the number of headers downloaded at one time, I
know how to do that and I know I can delete headers but I would rather just
set a limit and forget it.

AFAIK you can't but you can define views by View-> Current View-> Define
Views... to show or hide certain messages.

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

At the risk of being tarred, feathered and shown the door for asking OT
questions may I humbly ask if you could please tell a poor lost NG traveler
what the appropriate NG is for my question? I don't do forums (moderators
make me ill). I have one more totally inexcusable question to ask and if
you have no answer them maybe if you felt merciful you could again recommend
the proper NG in which to ask this, why do some NG's (keepers of the server,
ISP's or whatever) keep so many posts before removing them. The NG I'm
having problems with has 9K+ posts.

add msnews.microsoft.com as a news server and download the newsgroup list,
then search for outlookexpress - if you already have a newsgroup that
included the msnews groups, right click on the newsgroup name on the left
and choose Newsgroups... type outlookexpress in the top field.

Roady gave you a link to the web interface to the newsgroups - it's not a
moderated forum, just another way to access the groups MS hosts.

Since you're using OE as your newsreader, you can set up a news account
using msnews.microsoft.com (all the MS public newsgroups are hosted there)
and sub to as many as you wish. I'd recommend that over anyone else's
newsserver/mirrors.

OE 6 newsgroup: microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
