How do I clear calendar items from view after creating an archive?

I created an archive of my outlook calendar, but don't know how to clear the
old--now archived--information from my calendar view? I thought it would
occur automatically when I created the archive.

If you set the archiving properties to delete after archiving, the entries will be removed.
