How do I change the format/cell/border/automatic color to black

If you get to the Format > Cells > Border > color box and click on the arrow,
then if you click on the "automatic" box at the top of the drop-down color
field, it should put "Automatic" in the color box and that should set any
borders made from that point on to Black............is that not occuring?
