How do I change "Assigned To" user?

I recently received a business contact via email from another Business
Contacts user to incorporate into my business contacts. I have done this
befor without incident but this time I get an error message stating the I
have to change the "Assigned To" user before the contact can be saved in
Business Contact manager. I was able to put the contact into my regular
contacts but get the same message if I try to then move it into my business
contacts. A search on the Microsoft web site and the Business Contact Manager
help does not bring up any information regarding this issue. Anyone know what
this is all about?

If you received a contact from afar, it's probably assigned to the user of
that PC who is not setup as a user on your PC. That's what BCM is
complaining about.

that PC who is not setup as a user on your PC. That's what BCM is
complaining about.

How are you receiving this contact, as a BCM file?

The AssignedTo field typically can only be set to one of the
database's shared users.

IN this particular situation the BCM contact was sent from a computer within
my company to another. It was sent using the "Send To" using the selection
"Send full contact in OUtlook format". It was received by another company
user which is when we got the message. The contact went into the regular
Outlook contacts folder would would not go into BCM contacts. Needless to say
I do not understand why offer the capability of forwarding contact
information if it is not useable once it arrives. Why the need to assign the
contact to anyone when sending. The sender would not send it fi they didn't
want it sent and the sender certainly would want the reciepent to be able to
open it once they sent it. This makes no sense to me at all. theMurf
