how do I cancel an outgoing email?

system is tied up for 2 days now, trying to send a large file msg. how do I
cancel this, so I can start sending & receiving mail again??

File->Work Offline->Delete the file from the Outbox.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, jojo1 asked:
