How do I auto-reply incoming eMails ?

Joe deAngelo

During my holidays I want to inform the sender of incoming eMails that I am currently not in office.

How can I setup an auto-reply note?

Do I setup this in my Outlook 2003 or in the Exchange Server?

The applications co-operate; you set it in Outlook but Exchange is the one
replying so there is no need to keep Outlook open.
Tools-> Out of Office Assistant

Test this, as by default Exchange doesn't reply with an OOF to messages from
the Internet. Your admin needs to have it enabled on the Exchange server.

1) Outlook Tools - OOO (out of office) assistant

2) You must also enable out of office response(s) to the internet on your
Exchange server (this option is disabled by default)

Remember that this will also auto reply to spammers confirming that they've
hit a "good" email address (or not).

In Outlook, open a mail type folder then go to Tools->Out of Office Assistant. It is self-explanatory from there.

Set up your Out of Office Assistant. Tools -> Out of Office in
Outlook. This only works in an exchange environment.
