How do I add spaces between words after editing a PDF?

When I convert a PDF to Word for editing purposes I notice there are no
spaces between the words. When I convert it back to a PDF there are still no
spaces between the words.

*How* have you converted the PDF?

The whole point of PDF is that it is a fixed graphics format not intended to
be edited. You *may* be able to convert it to Word format using the full
version of Acrobat (depending how it was created) or you should be able to
convert it with OCR software or utilities with PDF capabilities - whatever
you use the chances of it reproducing the original document exactly are
slim. Tools that do work are ABBYY Finereader and PDF2Text, but not without
further work on your behalf.

If you have some inferior software, the only solution is to add the spaces
by hand.

Converting back to PDF only compounds the problem. It converts to what you
present it with and not what you hope it might be.
