I used to be able to type :) and it would autocorrect into a smiley face.
Some how that is gone now, and I want to add it back into auto correct, but I
don't know how. I know how to add new things to auto correct, but you can't
paste the smiley in...

What do you mean works for you?

The only thing I have been able to figure out is that I can go into the auto
correct settings, and to make the smiley appear press a code, and I don't
knwo which one.
I just want my smiley faces and sad faces back.
I am using HTML and I am not using WORD as the editor because it makes my
fonts huge while I am composing an email, a nd that is annoying.

What I mean is that I'm able to add a smiley to autocorrect. However,
unless you removed it, there should be no reason to add it, since it's there
by default.

You can put any character in any font in the autocorrect feature.
