How do adjust the color/brightness of a background design template

I am using a design template in a PP presentation - In the past, I have
lightened the design template, but can't see to figure out how I did it.
The design template is 'Ocean' and want it a lighter blue - I have it in
another presentation, but when I copy that slide the the presentation I am
working on, it returns to the darker blue original form.

Jenger,

I'm guessing that the ocean template is taking it's colors from the 'color
scheme'

So change the colors in the color scheme and all will be well
