How can you hide a tab for a single worksheet in Excel?

I would like to hide the tab for a single worksheet in a workbook while
having the remaining tabs still visible. Anyone know how to do this? It is
possible, but not sure how.

Hi

Select the sheet and then choose
Format>Sheet>Hide

To make visible again
Format>Sheet>Unhide and select the sheet name from the dialogue window

Roger,

Thanks for the reply, but I should have added that I do not want to hide the
sheet itself; only the tab at the bottom. This is for an index page that I
am using a button & macro to go to other worksheets within the workbook.

You can't, you would have to hide all tabs, and use your button to unhide
them if that is what you wanted.

Hi Terry

Then Tools>Options>View>uncheck Sheet Tabs
However, this is a Workbook setting, not a sheet setting and will hide
all tabs.

If you are using an Index page as a Menu system, then provided you put a
button or a Hyperlink somewhere on each sheet to take the user back to
the Index, you don't need any tabs showing at all.
