How can remote (VPN) WinXP users change their domain passwords?

We have users that have moved to a remote location and now connect via
VPN. We have a password policy to expire passwords after 30 days. How
can the remote users manually change their passwords over the VPN?

Just like ordinary user ... ctrl+alt+del -> change password. or change
it when he will be prompted to do this

I read that in other posts but am confused by it. When I do
CTRL+ALT+DEL on Windows XP SP2, I get the Windows Task Manager. I
don't see any options in it to change the password.

I don't see it. When I do CTRL+ALT+DEL, I get task manager. The menu
items are File, Options, View, Shut Down, and Help. The tabs are
Applications, Processes, Performance, Networking, and Users. The
buttons on the Users tab are Disconnect, Logoff, and Send Message.

Is this option somewhere in task manager?

I put a picture of my screen shot after doing ctrl-alt-del at

That seems like either your pcs were not part of the domain before they
moved out of the network. When Windows XP clients are members of a domain
the CTRL-ALT-DEL brings up the window that Tomasz mentioned.

Were the pcs a memeber of the domain before the moved to work outside of the
office. Or are the users using their home pc and only their body moved
outside of the office?

That is correct; the pc's were NOT part of the domain. They are using
their home pc's. Are there any other options for configuring VPN only
clients to regularly change their passwords?

If you want them to change their passwords the server should - once the
password expires - prompt them upon connection of the VPN to change their
password. THen they change it on their own
