How can I update the Definition ?

As far as I know, WD's definitiions should be updated by Windows Update and
I'm keeping doing so. But today I happened to found out that I can do it
through WD's own update tool ("check for update" button). This was the case
at my home. After I went to office trying do the same thing on my office PC,
it didn't work and came up with same error code that happened when I first
downloaded this WD months ago. So I have to do it again through Windows
Update(It's done).

What's going on?

There are two versions of Windows Defender beta 2, which Microsoft didn't
name too well. The same thing goes with IE7 beta 2, it has also different
versions.

Wow, 2 versions?! How did that happen?
Do you know how I can distinguish them? Which version is the one that can
update by itself?

I guess they fixed problems, but decided that it was too early to release
something called Beta3 or didn't want to have a Beta3, then it was named
Beta2 as well, but with a different version number, which is not always
visible for the user if you don't look at the file properties or Help/About.
