How can I "unlink" (break a link) between 2 Access databases?

I am working on converting some Access 97 databases to Access 2002, and some
of these databases have linked tables. How can I unlink these tables? then
after conversion, re-establish the link?

Open the database with the link to the table and delete it. Make sure you
are deleting the link in the secondary database, and not accidentally
deleting the actual table.

You can safely delete the Linked Tables, i.e. the ones with the Table icon
and right- pointing arrow, since this only delete the links and not actually
the Table.

You can convert without breaking the link.

And, in fact, by converting the front end from a97 to 2002, then you can run
ms-access in a mixed environment

(those workstations still running a97 can continue to do so, and the new
computers can run a2002). Just leave the back end as a97 until all computers
are converted over. You then can upgrade the back end from a97 to 2002 (you
don't have to do this...but you should...)...
