Hi,

I have a new PC and have installed OfficeXP Professional (same as on my old
PC).

I used the Save my settings wizard to transfer the configuration from old
to new.

This did NOT transfer my email account definitions (I support many clients,
and have some 30 accounts!). Is there a facility to Export/Import email
accounts from/to Outlook in OfficeXP ?

TIA

Richard

Have you tried exporting to pst files. you may need to do this for each
account depending how you have them set up???

Duh .....????

How??? Export only exports folders of messages/contacts/appointments etc.

Outlook doesn't have an Export Account facility that I can find ... which is
why I asked the question.

You can transfer the whold mailbox into a pst file. when being asked what to
export, select from the top level eg:- Mailbox - mailbox name.

nice!!!

Account data is kept in the Registry. Conceivably you could export the key
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles\yourprofilename and import it on the other machine, but I
don't know for sure this will work.

Hi,

Yes .... they are there, but not under profile names, just meaningless hex
id's. But as you say, no idea whether it would work.

My main requirement now that I've typed them all in again on the new PC is
to be able to back them up for disaster recovery purposes.

I really couldn't believe that the Save My Settings wizard didn't copy them.
Hence my query for another method.
