How do I stop windows installer window from launching and trying to install
an application I do not want installed? Currently, I have Office 2000
installed. However, when I try to open e-mail from within IE7, the window
installer launches and trys to install Office 2003.

Thanks.

what 2003 application is installed? it probably wants to do a repair- just
let it run and it won't come up again.

I launched "Outlook 2003" (which came pre-installed on my computer) to see
how it differed from Office 2000. Not having the "03 product key I pressed
the cancel button.

Now when I try and access my email from within Internet Explorer- Office
2003 setup window launches and I cannot get my e-mail. I trying to figure
out how I can get explorer to get email of Outllook 2000 again.

Obviously your Office program is a trial version and the only way you will
get a product key is to pay for it. If you don't want to pay for it,
uninstall it using Add and Remove programs. You will have to set your
preferences to use Outlook 2000 as your default e-mail client—Both in
Outlook and Internet Explorer (and any other browsers that you may be using)

Then, if you would like to have a free open source program with similar
features download OpenOffice. http://www.openoffice.org

go to add/remove programs and choose the change option. if that doesn't
offer repair/reinstall, rerun setup.
