always get duplicate emails - junk mail goes into junk mail, but personal
emails always goes into my inbox and one in my junk. I would like to stop
this duplication of emails. I tried the Create Rule tab, but that doesn't
work either. I still am getting duplicate emails!

Thanks for the help. I created a lot of rules trying to get them to stop and
go directly to the deleted file. I'm not sure how to disable the rules. I
go to tools >rules & alerts but there is no "disable" selection. I'm afraid
to uncheck all the boxes since I went thru my ENTIRE junk email trying to get
them to go to my deleted file. But is that what I do?

Do you have any rules? If so, disable them and see if it takes care of the
problem.

Using rules to try to filter junk mail is definitely doomed to failure.
