How can I stop MS Outlook using Messenger services?

Whenever I try and exit MSN Messenger I get a prompt saying that "There are
other applications currently using features provided by MSN Messenger. You
must close these applications before you an exit MSN Messenger" It goes on to
say that some of these applications could be Internet Explorer and MS
Outlook. The only two I use in the list.

I find this really irritating as I want to exit messenger and still leave MS
Outlook running. How can I stop this association between the two?

You didn't mention what version of Outlook you are using, but take a peek
under Tools > Options > Other.

Ah yes sorry, I should have mentioned it's Outlook Proffessional 2003 SP2. I
took a look under Tools> Options > Other and unticked the "Person Names"
fields. It's the only association between the 2 app's I can find there. I'll
try that when I get back to work and let you know how it goes. Thanks neo
