How Can I Stop A Help Task Pane From Opening

Every time I open my spreadsheet, the Template Help task pane also opens on
the right side of the screen. How can I stop this task pane from appearing?

Open a worksheet or start a blank one. (you'll need to do this to get to the Options... dialog, don't ask me
why)

Tools -> Options... -> View (tab)
Uncheck "Startup Task Pane".
Click "OK".
