How can I lock a slide until the narration finishes?

I have created a Powerpoint presentation for use with my students with
special needs, some with physical and some with cognitive limitations. It
contains their photos along with story narration. My students have
difficulty controlling their motor movements, but need to practice clicking a
switch to change the photo, as this is a skill that they will need to use in
many situations. For this reason I do not want to set up the presentation to
advance on its own. The problem is that they keep clicking multiple times
and changing the slide in the middle of the narration and getting frustrated.
Is there a way in Powerpoint 2003 to lock the presentation on each slide
until the narration finishes? Thanks to anyone who can help, as I see this
as being a very useful tool for us.

What if you were to uncheck advance on mouse click and then set the
navigation elements to appear after the sound completes (using custom
animation)? Would that work?
