How can I get a linked object to run immediately in PP2003

I knew how to do this in PP2000 however I need help in PP2003. For example
slide 1 is a title (text only), slide 2 has a linked object on it (out of
view). In presentation mode, if on slide 1, I push the down-arrow/enter, the
presentation advances to slide 2. Without me doing anything else, upon
entering the slide, the presentation links (immediately) to a different PP
presentation, and goes to slide 1 of that presentation (also in presentation
mode). When that subordinate presentation is complete (on the last slide) and
down-arrow/enter is pressed, the presentation returns to the same slide
(slide 2) from which it came.
I don't see anything in the custom animation that let me set an object to be
acted upon immediately (not having to mouse click on it, or mouse over).
I don't want to have to go back to PP2000 and make new links of this sort
and then come back into PP2003 to do other work. There must be a way to do
this .... help!
