How can I fix slow keystroke speed in Word 2007?

My keystroke speed in Word 2007 is extremely slow. I sped up the keyboard
and cursor speed to the fastest allowable, but that still hasn't helped.
Virus scanning produced no viruses. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Can you describe the exact nature of the problem?

I was having slow keystroke issues with my wireless keyboard, and I found
that the problem was being caused by RF interference from my cell phone,
which was on my desk close to the keyboard and the USB receiver.

But, this problem was not just in Word--it was throughout Windows. Is your
problem limited just to Word? If so, what happens if you start Word in safe
mode? To start Word (not Windows, but Word), in safe mode, hold the Ctrl key
when you click the Word shortcut, then click Yes to the Safe Mode prompt.
Are keystrokes still slow?
