how can I enter a leading 0 in 1/2 the records in a text field ?

MDB I have a text field that has both number and letters. About 1/2 of the
records contain a leading "0" or or letter. However the other 1/2 just have
the data in the second place. I need to add a leading zero these for soring
and continuity. Any help would be appreciated. I have thought about an update
query but not sure about writting the code. Is there an easier way or do I
have to figure out code?

You say "data in the second place" so I am assuming you have a leading space
in these records. Open the table, click on menu EDIT - Replace. Replace
space with the number zero.
