How can I delete the properties of a word doc?

I am trying to delete all the properties for a Word .doc and although I have
checked the Remove all personal information on save, cannot delete anything.
I am using Word 2003 SP3.

I don't think you can delete _all_ the properties of a document -- for
example, the creation date or the number of pages -- but you can
remove what Microsoft calls "personally identifiable information". See
