You can put a background on the slide master. Go to the View menu and
choose Master and Slide Master. Next, insert a picture and drag the corners
to fill up the whole screen. You might need to go to the Draw menu (Go to
View > Toolbars > Drawing if the Drawing toolbar is not visible) and send
the picture to the back (using the Order submenu in the Draw menu). You
might also use the Picture toolbar to decrease the contrast and increase
the brightness of the picture so it is light enough for other things to
contrast with on top of it.
