Something has recentley changed on my computer that i can't work out. I have all my music files etc in 'Tile view'. It used to display: the name of the file, the artist and the album name next to the icon itself. But now it only shows the file name, type of file(mp3,wma etc) and size. - the other details are displayed on the side menu paine
Im prob being really stupid, but how do i change it back to the way it used to be

Cheers

Assuming you mean in Windows Explorer, under view, click details, right
click on one of the header names that you do have and a list of options
will pop up.

Hi Kath, thanks for your reply. I dont know if i explained properly, -i like to have all my files in 'Tile View' - selected from the 'view' menu on windows explorer on XP pro. my tiles used to have a brief description of usefull details: songname, artist, album, etc but recently for some reason this has changed and all i get is the name, type of file and size of the file
Any more Ideas

Does it make any difference if you change the details? WinExp > View >
Choose Details

Hi K, No that only changes the details on the left side menu bar - not the writing next to the Icon - Any more ideas?

Is the folder still customized as a music folder? Check the Customized tab
in the folder's properties to see what template is being used.

Hi,
I've had a play about and the only thing I can find or think of is -
while in the tile view, click on Tools>Folder Options>View and put a
checkmark in "show pop up description for folder and desktop items."
This lets the full info show when you hover over the file, but does not
stay there permanently. Is this what you meant?
