How can I change the font for address labels?

I am using Word 2003. I want to do address labels in a certain font. When I
change the font and then go to the labels, it doesn't print in the new font.

Labels make use of the Normal style (of the blank document template), so
changing the default font should do what you want.

To change the default font in Word 2003: Click Format | Font. Choose the
desired font. Click the Default button. If/when you are prompted to save the
Normal template, choose to do so.

Clarification: If you don't want to change the default font, change the font
in the Envelopes and Lables dialog box by right-clicking and choosing Font
from the context menu (which requires you to print the labels directly).
Alternatively, create a new document and format the label text of that
document before printing.
