How can I cancel an outgoing email that is taking hours to transm

I have sent a large scanned document by email but my pc is taking hours to
complete the transmission and delaying other outgoing messages. Is there any
way I can abort the process? (am using broadband on a fast pc with Vista).

I'm certain there have been several posts about this made and answered
here today - did you do any sort of search?

Click File and check Work Offline. Close and then restart Outlook. Delete
the message. Click File and uncheck Work Offline.
