How can I automatically adjust cell height?

C

Chris Mitchell

I have spreadsheets with merged cells and variable length content that wraps
when it exceeds the cell width.

How can I make the cell height automatically adjust to fit the number of
rows of wrapped text?

Can this be done/applied to a Worksheet with different heights required on
cell by cell basis?

Can this be done/applied through a workbook?

If this can't be done automatically how can I do it by specifying the
height, I know I can do it by dragging the height but getting the correct
height is sometime tedious.

If necessary can I please have separate answers for Excel 2007 and 2003.

TIA.

Chris.

Hi,

One limitation on Best Fit - it ignores merged cells.

You can apply it quickly to all rows or columns by clicking the top left
corner of the sheet (selecting the whole sheet) and then double-clicking on
the line between any two row numbers when you see a line with two-headed
arrow. Same in the column area, double click on the line between any two
column letters.

This works the same in 2003 and 2007

If this helps, please click the Yes button

Cheers,

Brilliant, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Shane.

Can't see a 'Yes' button to click but if I could I would.
