I have the RCA Lyra RD1071 w/128MB in Memory and the
expansion slot for SD/MMC. I have a 64MB expansion
card. The product says that I can download 4 hrs. of music
play. How is this possible? I downloaded MP3's to the
device and it only holds 24 MP3's using the whole 128MB
memory and only 1 hour of playing time. How can I enable
it to hold 4hrs. of music play. Thank you.

No way for 4 hrs. 128mb will give you about 36 songs at an averag
of 3 minutes for song which is close to 2 hrs
One (1) mb equals about 1 minute of music in MP3 forma
which is a compressed format.

Most of the companies market the hours by a 96kbps MP3. Of course that is
not CD Quality, your real experience will depend on the bitrate on your
files. Lower bitrate=smaller sizes and lower quality. Higher
bitrates=larger files and better quality.

What I would suggest is using WMP (If your player supports it) and transcode
your music to a smaller bitrate on transfer. Now, only do this if you are
using the crappy ear-phones shipped with the product. The true is for most
of these devices the included ear-phones suck, so transferring a lower
bitrate audio file will not make as much difference.

Now, if you are using a good set of ear-phones or hooking this up to a audio
receiver you might want to chnage your mind about transcoding the music
before putting it on the device. This also depends on the quality of yourt
speakers+your ears.
