Hotmail Message Display on Windows Sign-In

On my Windows XP sign-in screen, there is always a notification of the number
of Hotmail messages in my account. This notification looks like: "5 unread
messages in your account" and is located right under my sign-in box.

I'd really like to know how to remove this function and wonder if anybody
knows how to do it. I'm assuming it's a Windows option but can't find
anywhere to remove it.

Thanks very much.

Compliments of Kelly:

Use TweakUI/Logon/Unread Mail and Repair/Unread Mail Count

Disable Unread Mail on the Welcome Screen (Line 100)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To remove an account or to change the count manually:

Start>Run>Regedit>navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your
E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail. In
the right pane modify: MessageExpiryDays Change it to 0.
