Just an FYI note here. I installed the hotfix
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960307 and now I can't package the runtime
version. Fortunately I have another system which I can use for this.

Hum, do you mean after installing the hotfix, the package wizard breaks? You
might want to give more details here. Does it hang, stop running, or you are
you finding the developers "option" simply missing?

I just tried the hot fix on my test box...and after installing, the package
wizard ran just fine and was able to create a package....

So, you might want to expand on what was your problem.

If the "devloper" tab is missing, simply go:

office button->access options->add-ins

Now choose the com add-ins from the combo box, and hit the "go" button...you
can simply check the "check box" to re-enable the developers tab (note that
EVEN re-installing the developers system does NOT re-enable this option if
it somehow disabled).

Furthermore, installing the hotfix does NOT (did not) disable the developers
tab for me. Certainly some failure at startup might ask you to "disable" a
add-in that froze (perhaps during startup). so, you have to do the above
steps to re-enable the com add in if you want the developers system to
re-appear in the list of options when you hit the office button.

Thanks Albert - yes that worked. Apparently the hotfix disabled the
developer extensions - or something did that anyway, but now it's back.

Yes I was. My database was growing in 8K chunks even when there was no
activity. This is an issue that the hotfix addressed.
