Hosting Games, behind a router.

the game will run like crap if you host it behind a
firewall, so just dont use the firewall, you can play from
behind a firewall, but a game like Quake3 will have
hangups when new players join

while a router can be a firewall, they are not always one thing.
the OP said router, and did not state there was a firewall running on
it.

and besides, i have a router that is also a firewall. games run just
fine through it.

i should re-phrase, in that some firewalls may degrade the game
performance, while none that i have used seem to have any problems.
