hosting a .NET web application on a LINUX server

Hi,

Is it possible? I have an application built on the 1.1 .NET framework
with a SQL Server 2000 backend. The LINUX server in question hosts
php-based sites with MySQL.

I just need a quick answer as to whether or not LINUX is capable of
hosting a .NET application with a SQL Server 2000 back end.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I should have mentioned that I did see
that information in other posts, but I don't have control over the
server and I'm not sure those who do would be willing to put an
application like that on it. So, without something like Mono, what
would the answer be?

Marks right - its a NO, but you should ask why they wouldn't put it on given
it ships with most current Linux platforms
