horizontal ruler

The horizontal ruler in all my word documents has suddenly shifted to auto-hide - disappears when cursor is not placed on the top of the page and appaers when cursor is placed at the top of the page. I would like it to be always displayed but cant find the proper commands.

Go to 'View' and click on the 'Ruler'
