Horizontal or vertical lines using freeform drawing tool

Back in February 2008, a participant identified a big problem with PowerPoint
2007's freeform drawing tool: it doesn't allow you to use the "shift" key to
draw vertical or horizontal lines. This has been a long-standing feature in
prior versions of PowerPoint. Without being able to draw horizontal or
vertical lines as a part of a freeform object, PowerPoint ceases to be a
useful program for my purposes. Unfortunately, I was unaware of this serious
shortcoming before upgrading to 2007.

Has this problem been fixed? I have installed SP1.

Thank you.

Thank you for the reply. Do you have a reference for the bug fix (i.e. where
is "here"?)

Thank you.

The Feb 2008 hotfix addressed the resizing problem when using SHIFT with a
straight or vertical line, but I assume that there is no fix for the specific
problem I raised (i.e. using SHIFT in a freeform shape to draw a horizontal
or vertical line).

If that is the case, I may have to uninstall PPT 2007 and reinstall PPT2003.

Thank you.
