I want to set up a network between my desktop computer in my house and a
laptop in my office in an adjacent building (approx. 100 ft. distance). 1.
Will wireless work?
2. If I use HPNA will the internet connection speed be degraded? My
desktop uses DSL with Windows XP. I could use cables but rather not if one
of the other ways would work.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
Wireless can work if you can establish a direct line of sight between two
Wireless devices one in each building.
May be this can Help, http://www.ezlan.net/bridging.html
HPNA need the connected electrical outlets to be on one side of the same
Utility feeding transformer. If the two sites are not on the same feed, HPNA
would not work at all. If it is capable to connect it should be fine for
humble Internet connection.
Be carful if you are going the cable way there can be different weather
related hazards as well as electrical potential difference between the
building, seek professional advice before you take this route.
